Kandy perahara 🙏

 The annual Esala Perahera held at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy is the most important cultural and religious festival in Sri Lanka. 🤍It is a grand homage to the Tooth Relic and is revered by Buddhists around the world. 🙏

The kandy perahara is held in the Esala month. It is a beautiful perahara. The whip crackers go in front of the perahara after them we can see flag bearers. They carry Buddhist falgs.

Drummers 🪘🥁, dancers💃, Nilames🫅 and elephants🐘 are in the perahara, Elephants are beautifully caparisoned. Everyone likes to see the perahara.

Since childhood, I have also had a desire to dance in the Dalada Perahera🥺. I got that opportunity in 2025 thanks to a previous charitable deed. 😍🙏
